Places to play chess in Rowhedge, Colchester. Lion Quay, Rowhedge is the site of a chess table providing two boards and a great view of the River Colne. It is (May 2024) recently restored with a new top.
Chess pieces may be borrowed from the nearby Jam Jar coffee shop at 1 Regent Street or, further, from Ye Olde Albion pub at 29 High Street. You can also play chess indoors at both these places when there is table space.
